Cheap laptops may not fulfill our dreams when it comes to performance, but they do deliver value at their price points. If you’re ready to make the riskier bet, we have collected a list of six of the most recent budget laptop releases. Have a look.
Newest Lenovo Ideapad 210s 11.6 inch HD Flagship Laptop – 2018 Edition ($179)
At a cost of just $179, Lenovo’s Ideapad 210s gives you enough power to execute daily computing tasks like browsing the web, reading email, and processing documents, while letting you glory in the latest connectivity capabilities via the lightning-fast USB Type-C, two USB 3.0 ports, and Bluetooth 4.0. It runs on Windows 10, which makes it more capable than a Chromebook, but this is quite limited by the unsatisfactory 32GB internal storage. There’s more to like in this super budget laptop but expect to face performance limitations when multitasking with many windows or tabs.

HP 14 Inch Stream Laptop ($185)
Another windows 10-powered budget laptop with basic functionality, the 14-inch HP Stream boasts 4GB of RAM, superb wireless connectivity capabilities, and 8 hours of battery life, which is just what you’d need to stream movies for the better part of the day. You can also run basic tasks, video-chat with your buddies, and multitask with a few tabs. However, the internal storage capacity is short of what you’d want to see in a laptop that supports media streaming. The number of programs you can install is also limited.

ASUS L402WA-EH21 Thin and Light 14” ($209)
A thin and light 14-inch machine, Asus L402WA-EH21 is the kind of notebook you can use to run basic tasks without bargaining on performance. It combines the power of AMD E2-6110 Quad Core 1.5GHz Processor, 4GB of memory, and Radeon R2 graphics to give satisfactory performance with crisp visuals. Although the internal storage capacity is underprovided, Asus gives you the option of expanding the memory via a built-in MicroSD Card slot. Another plus is that the battery life is quite optimal, and manages 9 hours under intensive use. Of course there are more bonuses to relish on purchase (as at the time of writing), including a pre-installed copy of Windows 10 S, a free full-year Office 365 Subscription, and an optional free upgrade to Windows 10 Pro via the Microsoft Store.

2017 Newest Samsung Chromebook 11.6’’ ($245)
There are generally fewer things you can do with a Chromebook than with a laptop PC, but this does not mean that Samsung’s 11.6-inch Chromebook falls short of your hopes. Indeed, at a price of just $245, it delivers supreme performance in browsing, document processing, and connectivity while guaranteeing 11 hours of battery life. The document-processing part, though, is what makes it more interesting. In place of Microsoft Word, it ropes in the Google Docs program, which provides a wide range of templates and icons to give you a stress-free experience when making and printing documents. Overall, it’s a good Chromebook with a handy size – and this makes it really easy to carry around.

HP Stream Laptop PC 14-ax030nr ($250)
HP’s 14-inch Stream is quick in handling tasks that don’t require much muscle like streaming video, browsing, and creating or reading documents. The keyboard is particularly responsive and comfy to use; and therefore recommended for typists and researchers who wish to key up long documents. If you are planning on listening to music or watching videos, however, be sure to bring your headphones as the speakers of this model are quite low.
Besides giving 64GB of internal storage and 4GB of memory as well as presenting an aesthetically pleasing design, HP Stream also brings sensational portability with its lightweight and compact design, allowing you to easily slip it in your backpack or briefcase.
