Every morning, I like to read tech news, whatever the source is. You know, just scrolling through what people are trying to invent nowadays. etc.

The goal? Well, the goal is to know what we are up against tomorrow!

And today, as I was reading, I happened to chance upon a story that I find amusing – the team at WhatsApp thinks that the userbase finally has a chance to have two WhatsApp accounts on one device. Is that news?  Huh!

Truth is, the hardcore WhatsApp user base has been using two (or even more) WhatsApp accounts, already, on one device for a long time now. How, you might ask… its very easy.

Just install an Android emulator like Bluestacks on your Windows 10 or Windows 11 device and you’re halfway there. Not only can you have a WhatsApp Windows app and a WhatsApp Android app at the same time but also have more than one android instance simultaneously. What does that mean exactly?

It means you can have more than one android device within the same device.

I know it seems confusing, but once you install an android emulator on your laptop, you’ll get to know what I am talking about. An emulator is a software that virtually emulates an android device. It’s like cheating (but not technically cheating) – You can run an android app on Windows using an emulator and not even once, but twice. It’s like having two phones on a laptop.

Bluestacks 5 Multi-instance.

One of my go-to Android emulators has been Bluestacks but there is a dozen more emulators that you can use today, including LDplayer.

In any case, the team at Whatsapp is trying to solve a problem that many whatsapp users have been having. Since most phones today are dual-SIM models, people often want to have two Whatsapp accounts on one phone. Now its possible.

To set up a second account, you will need a second phone number and SIM card, or a phone that accepts multi-SIM or eSIM. Simply open your WhatsApp settings, click on the arrow next to your name, and click “Add account”
